Can the public bottle feed the lambs at Standalone Farm?

This year, we’re not offering bottle feeding for the lambs. We’re excited to invite you to see our cute lambs, naturally fed and cared for by their mums – we believe it’s best for the little ones to thrive naturally with their mums.

As proud members of the Animal Attraction Assured scheme, we’re committed to upholding the highest standards of care. This award, created in collaboration with NFAN (National Farm Attraction Network) and Kiwa, ensures that we meet rigorous industry standards, providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

We hope you’ll come visit us this Easter and enjoy a fun, educational day with the lambs, while knowing that animal welfare is our top priority.

How long does the lamb stay with its mother?

Lambs typically stay with their mothers for at least 8 to 12 weeks to ensure they receive all the essential nutrients they need from their mother’s milk. During this time, the lambs not only benefit from the nutritional value of their mother’s milk but also from the bonding and learning process that occurs between mother and lamb.

After this period, lambs gradually begin to eat solid food like grass or hay, but the time spent with their mother is crucial for their overall health, development, and welfare. This is why at Standalone Farm; we prioritise natural feeding to help the lambs grow strong and healthy!

What animals can you feed at Standalone Farm?

At Standalone Farm, you can purchase a small bag of nutritional animal feed for just £2 at the shop.  The blue signs on the fences will show you which animals are happy to be fed – these include cows, sheep, goats, and pigs. It’s a fun way to get up close and personal with our furry (and not-so-furry!) friends. We hope you have a fantastic time feeding them!

Will there be tractor rides at Standalone Farm this Easter?

Yes, there will be tractor rides at Standalone Farm this Easter! However, these rides are weather permitting and are at the discretion of the farmer. Each day, the farmer will check the fields the ride goes on to ensure all safety measures are in place and everything is suitable for the ride.
